Blue Sky Sage Retreat
July 13 - 18, 2025
Ranch-based Experience
This 5-night trip will be based from the ranch, staying in log cabins, glamping tents or sheepwagons and eating nutritious meals in the lodge. The agenda will include daily rides and horsemanship lessons with instructor Bobbi Wade and the Diamond 4 Ranch staff.
A word from Bobbi: “We had such a successful and fabulous retreat in September of 2024, and myself, the women riders, and the Diamond 4 staff agreed we wanted to offer this week up again, albeit at a different time of the season. July is the best time for a summer experience, with the promise of stunning wildflowers blooming, lush meadows filled with native grasses reaching toward the sky, and saddle horses that are slick and shiny, ready to take us to wilderness peaks and 100-mile vistas.
If you have been hesitant to join a Blue Sky Sage trip in the past, maybe because it looked too daunting or you think you don’t have the skills or physicality necessary, let me assure you that this ride is suitable for almost any skill level and physical level (within certain parameters). There is just enough challenge for the intermediate rider, but a very doable adventure for the novice or someone wanting a more low-key experience. We’ll incorporate the horsemanship practices of Blue Sky Sage, and with the full staff of the Diamond 4 Ranch to do the heavy lifting along with their wonderful home-raised horses, this will be a unique and fulfilling experience. This ride week will be challenging mountain riding at its finest, in spectacular wilderness of the Wind River Mountain Range. AND rustic cabin accommodation! It will be the Diamond 4 program with their outstanding home-raised Wyoming horses and well-trained staff, with Blue Sky Sage female-ship, horsemanship, and our free-spirited philosophy rounding out the offering.”
For accommodations, we have cabins, glamping tents, and sheepwagons. If you would like to be guaranteed solo accommodations, please request a sheepwagon or glamping tent ahead of time. Depending on the group size, we typically have two people per cabin and solo folks in the glamping tents and sheepwagons. As we are limited with only 5 guest cabins on the ranch, we cannot guarantee ahead of time that anyone will have their own cabin. We do our best to spread folks out appropriately and have everyone in a comfortable, beautiful space!
TRAVEL: Arrive at the ranch at 4:00pm on July 13, depart on July 18 by 10:00am. Closest airport is Riverton, WY or fly into Jackson Hole, Rock Springs, Casper, Denver, or Salt Lake City and rent a vehicle. Be aware that the road into the ranch at the end of the pavement is 15 miles of winding gravel, so an SUV is recommended.
