Ranch-based Experience
This 5-night trip will be based from the ranch, staying in log cabins, glamping tents or solo sheepwagons and eating nutritious meals in the lodge. The agenda will include daily rides and horsemanship lessons with instructor Bobbi Wade and the Diamond 4 Ranch staff.
A word from Bobbi: “I have wanted to do this collaboration for many years, as the Diamond 4 Ranch is a classic Wyoming experience, and I have known the Allens for many years. If you have been hesitant to join a Blue Sky Sage trip in the past, maybe because it looked too daunting or you think you don’t have the skills or physicality necessary, let me assure you that this ride is suitable for almost any skill level and physical level (within certain parameters). There is just enough challenge for the intermediate rider, but a very doable adventure for the novice or someone wanting a more low-key experience. We’ll incorporate the horsemanship practices of Blue Sky Sage, and with the full staff of the Diamond 4 Ranch to do the heavy lifting along with their wonderful home-raised horses, this will be a unique and fulfilling experience. This ride week will be challenging mountain riding at its finest, in spectacular wilderness of the Wind River Mountain Range. AND rustic cabin accommodation! It will be the Diamond 4 program with their outstanding home-raised Wyoming horses and well-trained staff, with Blue Sky Sage female-ship, horsemanship, and our free-spirited philosophy rounding out the offering.”
TRAVEL: Arrive at the ranch at 4:00pm on September 10, depart on September 15 by 10:00am. Closest airport is Riverton, WY - you can use Classic Cruise Shuttle Service from Riverton to the ranch - or fly into Jackson Hole, Rock Springs, Casper, Denver, or Salt Lake City and rent a vehicle.

Bobbi Wade
My story to date has been parallel with horses and Wyoming, a lifetime spent in the saddle, roaming the wide-open spaces, packing into the mountain wilderness, and working cattle from the back of good horses. For most of the past 44 years of my adult career, there have been people from all over the world who have followed along on many horseback adventures with me, and the mentors, teachers, employees, and friends who shaped my life and philosophy along the way.

- Comprehensive knowledge of local and statewide history, legacy and image of Wyoming, and the western lifestyle.
- Career horsewoman and trail ride guide for over 44 years
- Small business owner, self-employed since 1988
- Lifetime horse professional. My qualifications include but are not limited to: training horses for ranch, trail, cattle, packing & back country; purchasing & overall management and oversight of horses, 20-100 head; rehabilitation of horses with behavior issues. Thousands of miles in the saddle under nearly every type of situation that ranch/wilderness/open country has to offer.
