Women’s Wellness Pack Trip

August 3 - 9, 2025

Wilderness Pack Trip

Enjoy an all-inclusive getaway for a 5-day wilderness horse pack trip plus two nights at the ranch. Arrive at the mountain ranch on August 3 at 4:00pm for a night at the ranch with dinner and breakfast in the lodge. The next morning, we will pack up the horses and ride about five hours into the wilderness to an area where we will camp next to a river with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Each night, the horses will graze in the meadow nearby our tents. We will practice yoga each morning in the meadow alongside the horses, eat breakfast around the campfire, then ride to a variety of lakes and scenic vistas each day. The group is limited to 12 participants.

There will be plenty opportunity for fly fishing in high-alpine lakes each day as well as in the river by our campsite. Each afternoon, there will be opportunity to hike, practice yoga, journal, meditate or just relax. We will ride back to the ranch on August 8, arriving to the cabins by 4:00pm. Stay another night in at the ranch with dinner and breakfast provided, and depart the next morning by 10:00am.

This trip is the heart of the Women’s Wellness Retreats created and led by Jessie Allen, the owner/operator of the Diamond 4 Ranch. Jessie first started leading these retreats in 2014, after spending her lifetime working on the ranch and seeing very few all-women groups sign up for trips. She created the Women’s Wellness Trips as a way to welcome women from all stages of life to be immersed in the wilderness, focusing on horsemanship, outdoor skills, health & wellness, and building community. Helping women feel empowered, inspired and refreshed in the wilderness is what lights Jessie up! Helping Jessie lead this trip will be four other skilled, savvy Diamond 4 women staff members.

Meet your leader:

Jessie Allen Gottwald

Jessie is the owner/operator of the Allen’s Diamond 4 Ranch. Jessie’s parents started the business in 1973. She has spent every summer of her life working on the ranch and guiding trips, and now she is taking over the business. Each summer, Jessie guides folks on horseback to fly fish, backpack, rock climb, and practice yoga in the heart of the Wind Rivers. In 2014, she trained in Thailand to become a certified yoga teacher, then brought to life her dream of leading mountain yoga pack trips. Her ‘Women’s Wellness Pack Trip’ was recently mentioned in the New York Times “Top 52 Places to Visit in the New Year.” In the fall, she guides wilderness hunts for rifle and archery elk, mule deer and pronghorn.

In Jessie’s off-season from the ranch, she leads 30-day wilderness backpacking courses as an instructor for NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). Jessie served as Miss Wyoming 2014. Along with competing for the title of Miss America, she traveled throughout Wyoming to speak on her platform “Explore Nature’s Playground,” encouraging an active outdoor lifestyle for youth. Because Jessie spends six months of each year in the mountains with no electricity, cell service or wifi, her aim is to help folks embrace simplicity and find ease in the screen-free, untethered life. Jessie’s greatest joy is helping others find clarity, connection and fulfillment in the backcountry.
