Women’s Wellness Retreat

June 28 - July 3, 2025

Ranch-based Experience

On this trip, we will be riding out from the mountain ranch each day. Staying in log cabins, glamping tents, or solo sheepwagons, you will be unplugged, immersed in the mountains, yet sleeping in a bed each night instead of camping. Enjoy nutritious meals in the lodge and a healthy sack lunch on the trail. Yoga classes will be offered every morning at sunrise, then we will eat breakfast in the lodge before saddling up to explore gorgeous areas during the day.

There will be opportunity for fly fishing in lakes, streams and rivers for those interested to catch wild trout. We will also incorporate many opportunities for hiking, or you can opt to take personal time to relax, meditate, journal, etc. Each evening, we eat dinner at 6:00pm with a short digestion hike offered at sunset. Informal, comfortable and welcoming, come to the ranch ready to connect with a group of diverse women while exploring together in rugged, inspiring landscape. The group size is limited to 12 participants.

This trip is led by Jessie Allen, the owner/operator of the Diamond 4 Ranch. Jessie first started leading these retreats in 2014, after spending her lifetime working on the ranch and seeing very few all-women groups sign up for trips. She created the Women’s Wellness Trips as a way to welcome women from all stages of life to be immersed in the wilderness, focusing on horsemanship, outdoor skills, health & wellness and building community. Helping women feel empowered, inspired and refreshed in the wilderness is what lights Jessie up!

Jessie started the Women’s Wellness Trips as wilderness pack trips, but she created the cabin-based retreats for (still) an incredibly immersive experience in the mountains - the ranch is Wyoming’s highest elevation guest ranch at 9,200ft with no electricity - but for this trip to be a bit more comfortable with staying in cabins, eating in the lodge and going on shorter rides. This is a great entry-point for gals who aren’t so sure about camping yet, but maybe they choose to do the wilderness pack trip the next year! Helping Jessie lead this trip will be four other skilled, savvy Diamond 4 women staff members.

Meet your leader:

Jessie Allen Gottwald

Jessie is the owner/operator of the Allen’s Diamond 4 Ranch. Jessie’s parents started the business in 1973. She has spent every summer of her life working on the ranch and guiding trips, and now she is taking over the business. Each summer, Jessie guides folks on horseback to fly fish, backpack, rock climb, and practice yoga in the heart of the Wind Rivers. In 2014, she trained in Thailand to become a certified yoga teacher, then brought to life her dream of leading mountain yoga pack trips. Her ‘Women’s Wellness Pack Trip’ was recently mentioned in the New York Times “Top 52 Places to Visit in the New Year.” In the fall, she guides wilderness hunts for rifle and archery elk, mule deer and pronghorn.

In Jessie’s off-season from the ranch, she leads 30-day wilderness backpacking courses as an instructor for NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). Jessie served as Miss Wyoming 2014. Along with competing for the title of Miss America, she traveled throughout Wyoming to speak on her platform “Explore Nature’s Playground,” encouraging an active outdoor lifestyle for youth. Because Jessie spends six months of each year in the mountains with no electricity, cell service or wifi, her aim is to help folks embrace simplicity and find ease in the screen-free, untethered life. Jessie’s greatest joy is helping others find clarity, connection and fulfillment in the backcountry.
