Holistic Wellness: Christian Retreat

June 30 - July 4, 2024

Ranch-based Experience

This trip will be based from the ranch, staying in log cabins, glamping tents or solo sheepwagons and eating nutritious meals in the lodge. The agenda will include daily rides, hikes, yoga classes and group sessions. The group sessions will be centered around spirituality; exploring the interaction between the spiritual, physical and mental self with opportunities for journaling, drawing and sharing observations. Leading this trip is Briahna Michalsky, who first came to the Diamond 4 Ranch as a guest on a women’s wellness trip with Jessie and has now been returning as a leader of this retreat.

Briahna is an incredibly skilled group facilitator, bringing a vast amount of experience in counseling to her leadership style. She brings a Christ-focused perspective to this experience and helps other women find deep connection within themselves. This trip is limited to 12 women. Yoga classes will be offered every morning at sunrise, then we will eat breakfast in the lodge before saddling up to explore gorgeous areas during the day. We will also incorporate opportunities for hiking, or you can opt to take personal time to relax, meditate, journal, etc. Each evening, we eat dinner at 6:00pm with a short digestion hike offered at sunset or optional group gatherings and sessions.

Starting from a Christ-focused perspective, we will look at the theme of “Wilderness”, and how we may meet both our worst and best selves in the hard places. You may find challenges, joys, and beauty throughout the trip, but our hope is that by the end of our time together, you have a deeper sense of connection to God and a wider vision of how He may work. Enjoy this opportunity to connect with yourself, nature and God in community with other women.

Meet your leadership team:

Briahna

Briahna lives near Louisville, KY with her husband and her daughter, and can often be found in her garden, growing unique varieties of herbs, vegetables, and flowers or at gatherings where she is sharing methods to use these plants in everything from tomato sauce to handmade paper and fabric dye. She has a passion for growth through community with other women, loves horses and the outdoors, and is not afraid to wrestle with hard questions related to faith, life and struggle as a Christ-follower. As a licensed clinical social worker, she brings a therapeutic approach to individual and group interactions. Briahna currently leads Rapha Farm Corp., a new nonprofit that seeks community wellness through the use of horticultural and equine therapies, and also operates Advocate Grant Consulting.

Kate

Kate has a passion for helping others discover their own unique path to wellness and growth. A life long horse lover, Kate has ridden for 40 years and holds a minor in Equestrian Science. In college, Kate discovered that her love of horses rivaled her love of human growth. Through her quiet strength, authenticity and balance, Kate has served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in community mental health for 20 years. Coupling her love of horses and mental health, Kate has been providing Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy since 2021.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn has 20+ years of horse experience. She started working in equine-facilitated services in 2011 and has been working in the mental health field for 7+ years. She feels blessed to be able to combine her passion of helping others and sharing the amazing growth that can come when including horses in the healing process.
