Untamed: A Journey into Awareness

Through culinary musings, somatic experiencing with horses, and summer rituals for heart and womb.

July 13 - 17, 2024

Ranch-based Experience

Join Teton Valley based Equine Assisted Somatic Practitioner Francesca Weikert and Herbalist & Farm-to-Table Chef Jenna Barnes of Parakalo Provisions for a soulful wellness & wilderness immersion at Diamond 4 Ranch.

THE EXPERIENCE:

Horses as healers: Connect with horses on a soul level. Deepen your somatic and energetic awareness through guided equine assisted exercises. Enjoy half day and full day rides through the pristine wilderness of the Wind River Mountains.

Rituals for the heart and womb: Engage in movement, breath, song, and community activations designed to deepen your connection to your own heart and womb space as well as with other women. Gift yourself an integrative bodywork session or abdominal therapy session with Hannah for deeper integration.

Connect to the land: Immerse yourself in this high alpine ecosystem through hikes, foraging workshops, fly fishing, horseback rides, and guided movement, meditation and self inquiry. Engage in land-based summer rituals. Enjoy the landscape on your plates through Jenna’s high quality farm-to-table fare.

Food as medicine: Food as ritual. Jenna’s menu and herbal tea offerings are designed to deepen your connection to yourself, your health, and this magnificent ecosystem. The intention for the food at this gathering is deep nourishment and activation. When we slow down and really savor each bite, we can trace the threads of where each ingredient has come from and how it supports our bodies and systems. Each dish is created with purpose and gratitude for the earth and for all of the beings involved in bringing it to the table. Our food tastes more vibrant and feeds us on all levels as we will approach it from a spiritual angle.

TRAVEL: Arrive at the ranch at 4:00pm on July 13th. Depart on July 17th by 10:00 am. Closest airport is Riverton, WY - you can use Classic Cruise Shuttle Service from Riverton to the ranch - or fly into Jackson Hole, Rock Springs, Casper, Denver, or Salt Lake City and rent a vehicle.

Untamed was my first retreat and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. When I signed up I just knew I liked being in the Winds, wanted to connect with horses more so, and the timing would work well for a mid summer break from work. What I got out of this experience was so much more. I arrived feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, depleted, and a bit emotionally unstable.

When I left I felt alive, grounded, nourished, and felt a sense of presence in the world I haven't felt in a long time. And those feelings have stuck with me ever since leaving.

The experiences were immersive and the connections were genuine.  A truly supportive and heartfelt retreat that I look forward to returning to in years to come.”

Jenna Barnes

Parakalo Provisions is Jenna’s culmination of creative outlets in the kitchen and love for eating close to nature. After working on numerous organic farms, traveling to over 20 countries, and immersing myself in herbalism studies, Jenna is eager to share what she has learned and flavors she has tasted, to offer what has been so nourishing to her own health and to continue to dig deeper into more culinary traditions from around the world. Jenna believes that food is a ritual and that a meal is medicine. We are all part of nature, and it is her intention to bring more of that to the plate and into our mugs.
